Ballet as we know it today, began during the Renaissance around the year 1500 in Italy. It is a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. It is best known in the form of classical, but can include neoclassical and contemporary ballet. Each class will begin with a warm up at the ballet barre, that focus on proper technique then moves to a center floor where students will learn different combinations to help them think fast and challenge the, and conclude with a formal grand reverence. Students will learn terminology in French and have monthly vocabulary tests. They will have correct body alignment, improve their natural turn-out, and really work hard on flexibly and strength. When students are ready to move on to the next level of Ballet they will have to pass a level exam.

This class was designed with the help of a physical thearpaist assitant and personal trainer and allows each parent to help their child develop motor and coordination skills such as balance, hand eye coordination and strength,in a safe, fun and structured environment. This class uses fun props and songs to really keep the kids entertain all while still learning very basic concepts in ballet and tap. This class is a perfect opportunity for babies to get in on the dance fun before they are old enough to join class on their own for more dance instruction.

This class again with the help of a physical therapist assistant and personal trainor continues to focus and develop motor and coordination skills just at a more independent level. This class helps the child become more independent and teaches social skills and working together in groups. Dancers in this class start independently learning basic vocabulary, stretching, strengthening and movements in ballet and tap all while still using fun props and music.

This class will be your dancers first introduction into a proper ballet class with a ballet barre warm up and starts to really focus on establishing good technique, and flexibility. Combinations will be taught for Tap and will get a little more challenging but students will really be encouraged to their full potential.

During this stage in a dancers training we like to introduce to them another form of dance. This class will be Ballet, Tap and Jazz and will focus on proper training in all of these aspects of dance. Students will start to learn how to perform and really start emoting and telling stories with there dances as well as still focusing on technique, flexibility and strength.

The goal of this class is to educate and implement the break dance elements as well as the hip hop culture into the minds of the students. The idea is to introduce the foundation of the culture and teach how it can build ones discipline, patience and physical agility. Students will be educated in the history of the dance, proper terminology for certain movements or transitions and technical factors of the dance. Students will be encouraged to bring their own individual style and personality to the movements while learning combinations to popular, age appropriate music!
